The Festival Team is very sorry to announce that we will not be having the Porsche Factory Prototype Driving Sessions at the 08 California Festival of Speed.

All of us were very excited when the plans were hatched to create some DRIVING sessions for Porsche Factory Prototype cars.

This would be a wonderful thing for all event participants to see and hear.

We began problem solving to make this happen, and many things fell into place. We addressed sanctioning, insurance, scheduling and much more.

We recruited quite a number of these cars for the Festival; with many of the folks we approached agreeing to participate.

Everything was good.

And then the owners of the wonderful cars began calling back with good reasons that they couldn’t participate this year.

And then more owners did so.

We now have so few willing to participate that it no longer makes sense to have the Prototype Driving Sessions feature this year.

We are very hopeful that we can do this next year, and efforts are ongoing to make that happen.

Again we are very sorry that the Porsche Factory Prototype Driving Sessions at the California Festival of Speed WILL NOT HAPPEN THIS YEAR.
